I’ve been eating a lot lately, but it’s all 100% vegan, mostly raw, organic, and extremely healthy!
I love it! I never feel like I should “restrict” If I want something sweet, rather than feeling guilty for eating an unhealthy treat, I make a raw vegan healthy treat (like my Raw Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles) and enjoy it! :)
It’s been 9 days and hasn’t been hard at all, I’ve been finding it easy to say no thank you to a ton of the foods that I would’ve drooled over before…like fresh baked warm non vegan chocolate chip cookies….drool haha
I’ll just make them vegan!
What I learned today:
Being vegan forces me to get creative in the kitchen.
Confession: I have a major sweet tooth, it’s more like a sweet molar
So when I’m constantly eating fruits and veggies I have to always be sure to keep something sweet in the house to curb those sweet cravings!
What I do a lot is throw some nuts (usually almonds or cashews) in a food processor with some agave and if I want to get creative with it I’ll add some cacao powder for a more chocolate-y flavor…and so on!
And because of that, I no longer crave fake sweets like the processed goodies you see on store shelves! And it’s only been like a week!

Just completed the same yoga video that I posted here two days ago!
It’s totally awesome, one of my personal faves…especially if you’re just starting out or starting fresh like me :)
As I mentioned before, the man narrating does an amazing job! You basically could do the whole thing without ever watching what the girl is doing, because his narrations are so specific and detailed. He also is great about pointing out little things like emphasizing how to curl your toes under to press up into downward dog…things that really make you go, “Oh that makes sense!” or telling you to square your hips and tuck your tail bone in making you think, “Oh that totally felt better”
Just simple things that really make a big difference!

Because last night I could not fall asleep
And I know that if I do yoga tonight, I may have an easier chance at snoozing quicker
So a light vinyasa yoga flow it is!
I used to be the type of person who liked to jump right into things. I would be determined to get an inversion, and rather than strengthening each muscle to properly achieve the inversion or pose, I would go right into a pose that my body was not ready for.
By doing this, I got hurt and had to stop lifting and practicing inversions for quite some time.
Now I am starting fresh.
I’m ready to begin practice yoga again without the eagerness to get a pose the moment I learn about it. I will take the time to start from the beginning and strengthen each and every muscle in my body.
As Krishnamurti once said,
"Real learning comes about when the competitive spirit has ceased.”
Whether you are in competition with others or yourself, let it go.
Yoga is about spirituality and strengthening.
Savor the practice and what it does for your body and use the more advanced poses and inversions as a source of motivation, not competition.
